Te Rūnanga o NgāiTakoto Tangihanga support was established in January 2018. The overall aim of NgāiTakoto Tangihanga support is to assist our NgāiTakoto whānau during this time of bereavement and when experiencing financial hardship.

Tangihanga support is available to all members of NgāiTakoto descent who are registered with Te Rūnanga o NgāiTakoto.

Funeral Grant Criteria:
Te Rūnanga o NgāiTakoto Tangihanga support are open to NgāiTakoto Members residing in New Zealand Only, To be eligible all applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

• Be registered to Te Rūnanga o NgāiTakoto.
• Must complete an application form and return with any supporting documentation
• Deceased must be returning to one of four NgāiTakoto Marae: Te Paa a Parore, Waimanoni, Wharemaru o Kaimaumau, Mahimaru.

Educational Grants, Sponsorships & Financial Support

Te Rūnanga o NgāiTakoto has temporarily put a hold all new requests for financial support. This includes:

• Educational grants and scholarships
• Sponsorships
• General funding or financial assistance

We are currently reviewing and strengthening our support process to ensure it is fair, transparent, and aligned with the needs of our whānau and Iwi development goals.

During this time, we will not be accepting any new applications.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this. Updates will be shared on our website and social media channels as soon as new information becomes available.
