Maranga Mai

Whānau Rising | Tamariki Thriving | Voices Strengthened in Education.

Have you ever wondered…

  • Is my child really thriving at school?
  • Do I fully understand what the school is telling me?
  • What can I do if I feel something isn’t right?
  • How do I confidently speak up for my tamaiti or mokopuna?
  • How do we help our tamariki to succeed?

Many whānau carry these questions. You are not alone.

What is Maranga Mai?

Maranga Mai is a series of marae-based wānanga where whānau come together to kōrero openly about education and strengthen their confidence to support their tamariki.

  • How the education system works
  • What shapes the experiences of our tamariki
  • How whānau voices can make a difference
  • Practical ways to support our tamariki and mokopuna

For parents, grandparents, caregivers & all whānau supporting tamariki.

How can you participate?

Join us for a series of evening wānanga supporting whānau to confidently advocate for their tamariki – and for themselves – when engaging with schools and education pathways.

These wānanga will be facilitated by Therese Ford-Cartwright and Iti Joyce, uri nō te kāinga, who are deeply involved in advocating for stronger, fairer education outcomes for tamariki, whānau, and our wider community.

Your voices matter.
Your stories and lived experiences are valuable.
